Richard Nicoll - Work Experience

Studio Intern @ Kingsland Road, London /  April 2010 - September 2010

Whilst studying for my BA in Fashion Design I did a 5 month work placement with Richard Nicoll at his London based design studio. It was a wonderful experience, Richard was an incredibly calming influence on the production and design team and there was an openness in the creativity. Most of the toiles/muslins were made in-house by the interns and technical designer. I got first hand experience with bodice and corset making and also loose fitted sportswear. Collage artist, Linder Sterling was the collaborative print designer at the time and i had the opportunity to work with here at a 13- hour performance piece that Nicoll designed the costumes for. Below are images of the studio and Back stage at London Fashion Week.
